New Ad Campaign Contrasts Mark Kelly’s Abortion Extremism with Blake Masters’ Pro-Life Views

The Women Speak Out PAC (WSOPAC), a partner of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America (SBA), announced today the launch of a $1 million TV ad, airing through October 5, which exposes Senator Mark Kelly’s pro-abortion positions in contrast to pro-life Senate nominee Blake Masters.

“Mark Kelly is an abortion radical who backs legislation forcing states to allow abortion on demand, until birth, paid for by taxpayers. This is deeply out of touch with Arizona voters, as well as most Americans,” said Mallory Carroll, national spokeswoman for Women Speak Out PAC.

The 30-second ad in question showcases various pregnant women joyfully preparing to bring a child into the world. A narrator shared that Masters supports compromise, which is said to be reasonably regulated late-term abortions with an exemption to protect the mother’s life. Masters’ policy is juxtaposed to Kelly’s extreme position, which the ad alleged includes abortions after the sonogram and until the due date for any reason.

“Kelly is just not reasonable,” concludes the ad.

Carroll further shared that the WSOPAC is attempting to share Kelly’s extreme position with people who may not realize what he stands for.

“Senator Kelly consistently sides with the abortion lobby against his own constituents who want greater protections for unborn children and mothers. Arizonans deserve better. To date our canvassing team has made over 600,000 visits to voters to educate them about Kelly’s extreme record and contrast it with Blake Masters’ pro-life position which centers on reasonable consensus protections for unborn babies and moms,” Carroll said.

The SBA gave Kelly an “F” on his national pro-life scorecard. The organization showed over 25 SBA-opposed bills Kelly has voted for as a senator. One such bill was the “Women’s Health Protection Act of 2022,” which could have prevented any government entity from limiting a provider’s ability to provide certain drugs, offer abortion services via telemedicine, or provide immediate abortion services when a delay could risk the patient’s health.

The SBA renamed the act to the “Abortion on Demand Until Birth Act,” which SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser said would wipe away nearly “all common ground pro-life protections in the states, including limits on painful late-term abortion which the people strongly support.” While the act failed to advance in the U.S. Senate by a vote of 49-51, Kelly provided one of the votes in favor.

Arizona Representative Debbie Lesko also spoke against this bill, calling the bill “beyond extreme” and stating that women and preborn babies deserve better.

According to a poll conducted by CRC Research in February, most Arizonan voters opposed the Women’s Health Protection Act. Of the 700 registered Arizona voters who were questioned for the survey, 53 percent opposed the legislation. Moreover, 59 percent of respondents said they supported a 15-week ban on abortions, compared to 27 percent who said there should be no ban. The poll also found that 56 percent of independents were less likely to vote for Kelly because of his stance on abortion.

As reported by The Arizona Sun Times, Masters received an endorsement from National Right to Life, the nation’s oldest pro-life organization.

Furthermore, this new ad comes on the tail of news from Arizona’s attorney general (R) that a territorial-era law will be reinstated in Arizona. The law would ban all abortions with the exception of protecting the mother’s life. Only physicians would be punished under the law and could face three to five years of jail time for performing an abortion.
